Brake Adjusting Star for all VW Models with Drum Brakes. This is the threaded wheel that gets seized into the backing plate, and prevents you from being able to adjust your brakes. Brake shoe adjusting screw. This is the threaded piece that goes into the adjusting star and engages the brake shoes. It takes 2 per wheel to replace. Finish off your brake job by replacing the cracked or missing rubber dust plugs in your backing plates. These plugs go into the inspection hole in the backing plate and keeps contaminants out and allows access to the brake adjuster screw.
